Our Philosophy
The
intention of Lyons Glenn is to provide housing that is affordably
priced. It is also intended
to create a community fashioned after the style made popular
in Denmark, where cars are parked on the exterior of
the site and residents actually walk to their homes on
common pedways (sidewalks). A common courtyard is
the centerpiece and is sheltered by the units on the
north and south and by trees on the west side. Pedestrian access
will be off Main St. on the southwest corner of the site
as well as the main entrance off 2nd Avenue and the alley
on the south side of the lot. Maples, ash, crabapples
and evergreens will adorn the landscape both on the interior
as well as down 2nd Avenue. Even though the condominiums
are in an old fashioned row house style with covered front porches
facing
each
other, they all have a 5-Star Plus Energy Rating - the highest rating
available for energy efficient homes. All have fabulous mountain
views. The result
is a
community that encourages neighborly greetings
along the pedways, keeps car exhaust away from the homes,
and provides a small park for everyone's enjoyment. To
